By accessing nabeelkhan.com (the "site") you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. These terms may be updated from time to time; continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

The site is provided for informational and professional reference. You may read, link to, and quote it with attribution. You may not republish substantial portions, scrape it at scale, or present its content as your own.

Unless stated otherwise, all essays, book material, diagrams, named frameworks (including the MESA Framework, the Five-Gate Deployment Model, and related models), and design on this site are © Nabeel Khan and are protected by copyright.

Book titles, publisher names, and third-party standards (ISO, SOC 2, NIST, AAOIFI, and the named regulators) are referenced for identification and belong to their respective owners.

The Companion Working Files Licence 1.0

This covers the editable working files published with AI Governance and Compliance Frameworks for the Middle East: the Word and Excel templates offered as a download from the companion portal, and the self-assessment instrument. It does not cover the book text, the written appendices, the dispatches, or the named frameworks, which are addressed above.

Why these files have their own licence. The rest of the companion material is published under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives, which is right for something meant to be read and cited and wrong for something meant to be filled in. NoDerivatives means no modified versions, and a completed template is a modified version. The licence therefore forbade the only thing these files are for, including for the institution the book was written for. This replaces it, for these files only.

You may, without asking and without paying:

• Use, complete, adapt and rename them inside your own organisation, including a commercial one and including for paid internal work. A completed template is yours.
• Share them within your organisation and with your auditors, regulators, counsel and contractors working on your behalf.
• Redistribute the unmodified originals, with attribution and a link to nabeelkhan.com/ai-governance.
• Have an AI assistant help you complete them. Output produced that way is yours on the same terms.

You may not:

• Sell them, or include them in something you sell, whether modified or not. Selling advisory work that uses a completed template is fine; selling the template is not.
• Republish them publicly as a template set, toolkit or product, whether modified or not, or present them as your own work.
• Use them to train a model whose purpose is to reproduce or substitute for this template set.

Attribution. Keep the credit line the file already carries. If you have restructured a file to the point where that line no longer fits, a credit anywhere in the document is enough. Nothing here requires you to publish, disclose or mark an internal document.

No warranty. These are drafting aids, not advice. They are supplied as they are, with no warranty of fitness for any regulatory or contractual purpose, and using one does not create an advisory relationship. See the professional disclaimer.

The site is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. While the author strives for accuracy, no guarantee is made that content is current, complete, or error-free.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the author shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from use of, or reliance on, this site. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

This site is built to be light and privacy-respecting. It does not ask you to create an account, and it does not sell or share personal data.

Analytics. The site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read, in aggregate. This is loaded under Consent Mode: analytics storage stays denied by default and only activates if you choose "Accept" on the cookie banner.

Meta pixel. The site also carries a Meta pixel, used to measure which writing and which work reach people. It sits behind the same gate. Until you choose "Accept", the pixel script is never requested and no Meta cookie is set. Choose "Decline" and it does not load at all. With JavaScript turned off it cannot load either, because there is then no consent for it to read.

Your choices. Your consent decision is stored locally in your browser. To change it, clear this site's storage and reload, then choose again on the banner. You can also block analytics with browser settings or an extension. Declining takes effect at once. Withdrawing an acceptance you gave earlier takes effect on the next page you load, since a script already running cannot be recalled.

Forms. If you send a message or book a slot, the details you provide are used only to respond to you. They are not added to a marketing list.
